I just returned from a photo shoot with my husband. We have co-authored a couple of books and let's just say the "author photo" for our book Web sites were waaaay out of date. During the shoot, we were talking to the photographer and she told us how she had been recruited by a business to take photos of people and their pets at an event. The folks at the event would then sell the prints. She was really looking forward to to the experience.

Any time you meet professionals like this, find out what they like to do. In this case, the photographer loves taking pictures of dogs and kids. (More power to her!) So she jumped at the opportunity to earn her "day rate" for taking pictures. Obviously, you could do the same type of thing the business is doing and sell prints as a fundraiser. Not every photographer will go for this type of idea, so if you run across someone who thinks taking pictures of critters is fun, you should jump at the chance to hire that person.

Always remember that what seems really difficult to you may actually be "fun" for someone else. When you can give someone the opportunity to have fun and make a little extra cash to help the animals, everyone wins!

As always, thank you for all you do to help the animals ;-)
