This week's teleseminar with dog training expert Jennifer McCarthy was extremely interesting. She pointed out that, as with kids, if you don't set boundaries for dogs, you can end up with serious behavior problems. In fact, she pointed out that because of the misuse of pure positive training techniques, aggression cases are "through the roof." I can't say I disagree with her assessment. Although I like the idea of positive reinforcement training, I know that it's a good thing my dogs know the word "no" as well.
